Build a sensor and become part of the worldwide Civic Tech network
What is OK Lab Stuttgart?
The OK Lab Stuttgart is part of the Code for Germany program of the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany. The goal is to promote transparency development, open data and citizen science.
Regional groups of designers, developers, journalists meet regularly in labs. They develop apps that inform, positively shape and support society, and make work of governments more transparent.
Code a difference: Use your skills to improve your city!
What is luftdaten.info?
Particulate matter alert! The limits are regularly exceeded in the capital of traffic jams.
- How can air quality be measured and visualized?
- What effects does the high traffic volume have on our air?
- How high is the exposure of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides in residential areas?
We address these and other questions by building particulate matter sensors and visualizing the data in an overall picture.
OK Lab data is Database Contents License (DbCL) v1.0. The map may and should be further developed by the community.
Official daily average of the State Institute for the Environment, Measurements and Nature Conservation Baden-Württemberg (LUBW).
Citizen Science – join in!
OK Lab Stuttgart is dedicated to the fine dust measurement with the Citizen Science project luftdaten.info. You and thousands of others around the world install self-built sensors on the outside their home. Luftdaten.info generates a continuously updated particular matter map from the transmitted data. Fine dust becomes visible.
The OK Lab Stuttgart meets:
every 2. tuesday, 7 pm, shackspace, Ulmer Str. 255, Stuttgart Wangen
every 4. tuesday, 6:30 pm, Stadtbibliothek, Mailänderplatz 1, Stuttgart
